GINA'S KLONOPIN WITHDRAWAL SUCCESS STORY
Right after the pandemic hit, in June of 2020, my nervous system began to take a dive. The anxiety around the lockdown, raising three young children in the midst, coupled with several major losses in the years just prior, all came to a head. I ended up on Klonopin (a benzodiazepine) for severe anxiety. I was feeling the "fight or flight" feeling around the clock and couldn't sleep either. It was not very long at all (maybe two weeks) before I realized that my body had become dependent on the Klonopin, and I couldn’t just stop taking it. I was a mess! I was still anxious, not sleeping, and yet I suddenly felt trapped on this drug. It was a dark and overwhelming time to say the least! Anything you read online and most practitioners suggest a very short timeline for tapering. I quickly found out there was no way. One day, I sat crying out to God from a very hopeless, scared place. I started searching online and came across the website for Point of Return. I immediately called their number, and Alesandra answered the phone. I will never forget that day as long as I live. The reassurance and understanding in her voice was like a drink of cold water. I wept knowing I had finally found someone who really knew and saw what I was going through. I hung up with more hope than I had had in a long time. I finally felt that there was a way out of this nightmare.
I signed up to do the program almost immediately. I have not once regretted that decision, and Alesandra and her team have over delivered on what they committed to. They quickly poured over my meds, supplements, and foods with a fine tooth comb and helped me eliminate anything and everything that could be interacting with the meds or flaring up my nervous system. It was eye opening! As soon as I followed their instructions, I saw immediate results. Their availability alone brought me so much reassurance. If you are currently on a similar journey, you know how scary it can be to walk this road alone. They have always been so prompt to answer an email or return a phone call. Andrea has talked and listened to me for long stretches. They made me feel like I was the only one in the program.
I followed their protocol and even had a few bumps along the way, like trying to find the right compounding pharmacy, but they guided me through it. I began the taper in October of 2020 and (thought) I was finished in March of 2021. I had a setback which really crushed me, and had to reinstate a small amount of the Klonopin. Alesandra never batted an eye and assured me that I would get through it. I did! I took my final dose in Sept. of 2021 and have not looked back! There were times I felt so trapped on this drug. I felt feelings of failure and doubt. The forum is also a lifeline! So many of the mentors and members rushed to encourage me. It’s a process none of us would willingly sign up for, but one we have to surrender ourselves to.
These are unprecedented times. All of us are walking through something or another. Like the book title suggests, “Our Bodies Keep the Score.” My body was saying, “enough!” I didn’t listen for a long time until all the bells and whistles went haywire! I have learned and continue to learn so much. I have gained so many tools to use and don’t take one day with a peaceful mind and body or one night’s sleep for granted. The value of the work of Point of Return, Alesandra, and her team is priceless. It is truly a life saving work, and I am beyond thankful for finding them and the path that led me to a much better place.
With Deepest Gratitude,

Empowering Others Through Experience.
From the moment I began, Point of Return (POR) welcomed me as a family member and supported every step of the way. With their assistance, I completed four tapers including Zoloft, Klonopin, Travacor and Seroquel. In my lifetime, I will never be able to say thank you to the POR experts enough. They truly poured their hearts and souls into helping me become med free.

SUZY's KLONOPIN withdrawal success story
In 2001, I began to experience anxiety for the first time. I suffered panic attacks, waking with my heart pounding out of my chest and crying spells that I couldn’t explain. I was desperate and afraid. Saliva testing that I had done with a chiropractor who specialized in female hormones showed that I was experiencing estrogen dominance, and I knew that was part of the problem. However, the primary care doctor and OB/Gyn I met with at the time told me that the saliva tests I had done were unreliable. They refused to do any testing and insisted that I had a chemical imbalance. I was told that I would need to be on medication for the rest of my life. When I finally took the anti-depressant, Serzone, they had prescribed, I could not sleep for weeks. Later, the benzodiazepine, Klonopin, was added to help. I had no idea at the time what I was getting myself into.
Over the next 13 years, taking meds along with regular visits to the psychiatrist became part of my life, because I had learned that just stopping them wasn’t an option. But, in 2014, I decided I was ready to make a change. My husband and I moved to a new city for his work, and I took time off as an elementary school teacher to focus on my health. I researched a plan to slowly taper my medications on my own. For the first six months, things were going well, but then they quickly turned. Ultimately, I ended up in a psychiatric hospital to try to stabilize. I came out 12 days later layered in meds. I felt like a zombie; my brain and my heart felt completely cut off from one another. I was no longer myself. For the next couple of years, I did everything I could to survive, but outpatient care, group therapy, and alternative care practitioners could do nothing to lift the deep fog and turmoil I was living under.
One evening just after Christmas, I googled "how to taper medications". The website address came up for Point of Return (POR). I eagerly read the testimonials. That night, at bedtime, I quickly called the toll-free number before losing my nerve. Despite the holidays, Alesandra called me the next day. At the time my cognition was extremely compromised to the extent that I cannot remember the details of that first call, but I now know that it was one that truly saved my life. What I do remember was that Alesandra told me that her program would help me taper the meds safely, and she assured me that the deep loss of connection I was experiencing was due to the medications. For the first time in a long while, I experienced a sense of hope that I could get my life back.
The way that the truly caring and compassionate people at Point of Return helped me was nothing short of amazing. It became clear to me that they were experts, and I learned to trust them immediately. I submitted a list of supplements that I had been taking in addition to my meds, many of which well-meaning practitioners had added to try to help me feel better. The POR team advised me concerning the supplements that were interacting with my meds, and they directed me to safely taper those before I could begin tapering my meds. The Point of Return Interaction guide also pointed out foods, herbs and other items that I should avoid. At that time, POR informed me that a supplement I had been given called Travacor contained an ingredient that acted similar to a benzo, and it would have to be tapered over a longer period as well. Very thankfully, during my second med taper, the Point of Return experts got word that the formulation of Travacor that I was taking was about to be taken off the market. They worked with me as I procured enough of the supplement to begin a slow, compounded taper right away. If Point of Return had not been keenly aware of this change, my health would have been in jeopardy, but instead, because of their dedication to knowing everything about these meds and supplements, I was able to slowly and safely taper off Travacor.
From the moment I began POR welcomed me as a family member and supported every step of the way. With their assistance, I completed four tapers including Zoloft, Klonopin, Travacor and Seroquel. In my lifetime, I will never be able to say thank you to the POR experts enough. They truly poured their hearts and souls into helping me become med free.
Alesandra was always so gracious to answer my questions and my concerns. Her understanding and kindness always put my mind at ease. Andrea took the time to share with me, listening and offering advice when I most needed it. She monitored my progress carefully and helped me adjust my taper schedule as needed so that I could be successful. Terry was always quick to offer sound advice about how to exercise carefully on my journey off meds, and he made the effort to make sure I received my Point of Return nutraceuticals with care.
The Point of Return nutraceuticals worked tremendously and made it so that I could function during my taper. I could not have made it through the daily (sometimes hourly) challenges without them. Most people who saw me from day to day (even my mother) said that they would have never guessed that I was going through so much, but I was able to keep going because my brain and my body were so well nourished.
I would not be in this place if it weren’t for the absolute Angels on Earth at Point of Return. They have given me the opportunity to create this new life for myself and my family, and I am forever grateful.
I became active on the POR forum very early in my journey, and my friends there became my lifeline as well. There are very few people in this world who understand what it’s like to be unintentionally addicted to these meds and so easily trapped by what they do to the brain and the body. I will be forever grateful to my forum mentors. Each one of them kept things real and encouraged me to persist especially with the ups and downs of tapering. Athena helped me find laughter during a time when it was difficult to discover. Karole intelligently guided me in healing what I could with diet, sleep hygiene, daily exercise and other modalities. This made a notable difference in my ability to taper successfully. Elisa-Ruth ministered to me in many ways, especially helping me to cling to God’s promises as I struggled to feel Him near-by.
When I was tapering, there were times that I looked longingly at pictures of myself from the past. At the time it seemed like all I wanted was to go back and be that happy person who loved life and felt so in love and connected to my husband, my family, my friends and my Lord. Now when I look at those pictures, I don’t want to be that person, because “she” was on meds through no fault of her own. Instead, as I work through my healing, I deeply appreciate my freedom from these drugs, and I am learning how to love myself and be happy in ways that I never imagined. I would not be in this place if it weren’t for the absolute Angels on Earth at Point of Return. They have given me the opportunity to create this new life for myself and my family, and I am forever grateful. They will ALWAYS have a very special place in my prayers and in my heart.

MINDY'S KLONOPIN WITHDRAWAL SUCCESS STORY
Shortly after giving birth to my daughter, I began suffering from severe insomnia. Out of absolute desperation, I started taking Trazodone and later added Klonopin, among several other sleep supplements. When my sleep finally returned to normal, I tried getting off the meds. I went to 4 different psychiatrists for help, and every one of them wanted to put me on more harmful drugs to help me get off of the ones I was already on.

I knew my body couldn’t handle any more medications, as I was already having horrible side effects from the current ones. Reluctantly, I followed their advice and I ended up on a roller coaster with more terrifying bouts of insomnia, anxiety and crippling withdrawal symptoms. It was one of the darkest times in my life. During this time, I found POINT OF RETURN. After my very first phone call, I knew I had found the right place. Not only had they been through similar experiences themselves, but they were extremely knowledgeable about the complex interactions between medications and supplements. They provided me with detailed instructions and support to get off of EVERYTHING naturally and safely. It has been six months since I took my last med. I have my life back. I have my health back and I have my sanity back. I owe all of this to POINT OF RETURN, and I highly recommend their program to anyone struggling with drug dependency and addiction.

KALEIGH'S KLONOPIN WITHDRAWAL SUCCESS STORY
Here I sit, 7 months post-taper and reflecting on how truly grateful I am for Point of Return and their help getting off of a dreaded benzodiazepine. I could not have successfully gotten off of Klonopin the way I did if it weren’t for Alesandra and her team at Point of Return. I had a very mild experience throughout my taper and while difficult at times, never felt without support. I still traveled, met with friends, and participated in life. I am grateful to God and this team of selfless individuals who led me through the experience, promising me I’d make it to the other side (and I did!) All glory to God. Isaiah 43:2.”
