how the opioid withdrawal tapering program

WORKS

For 18 years Point of Return, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, has helped people regain their lives from addictive medications.  Opioid Dependence often starts innocently and then the trap of dependence sets in.  Our Opioid Withdrawal Program is a low-cost, proven approach that allows you to step down on Opioids while minimizing the symptoms with a powerful, holistic approach that includes specifically developed nutraceuticals that do not interact with any medication yet provides the needed Opioid Withdrawal relief.  Our program is implemented at your home, under the guidance of the Point of Return Team, Your Physician and Pharmacist - this allows you to taper Opioids in reduced amounts that are not available by the pharmaceutical companies.

The Pretaper is only for symptom relief and you will not begin to wean Opioids until you feel stronger. This is where our advanced nutraceuticals are critical to the Opioid withdrawal process.  We understand the unique demands placed on the body and nervous system by Opioids.  Point of Return provides healthy, proven, Drug-Free strategies to help ease Opioids withdrawal symptoms while supporting your well being.*  This isn't only about tapering, we want you healing as you taper.  We want your confidence to return and pain to lessen, we want you to engage life again.  Our proven program has helped people in every state of the United States and in 78 countries.  Its time for you to begin your Point of Return.

Each program is individualized based on your particular set of circumstances.  Our assessment is emailed quickly upon ordering and this allows us to uniquely customize each program and tailor specific needs.  Factors we assess are age; length of time on Opioids; other medications and potential interactions; health challenges; life stressors; and goals.  No need to go through Opioid withdrawal alone, work with our kind team of Prescription Drug Experts.*

According to the FDA

In general, antidepressants should be prescribed for short periods only (e.g., 2 to 4 weeks). Extension of the treatment period should not take place without reevaluation of the need for continued therapy. Continuous long-term use of product is not recommended. Withdrawal symptoms (e.g., rebound insomnia) can appear following cessation of recommended doses after as little as one week of therapy. Abrupt discontinuation of product should be avoided and a gradual dosage-tapering schedule followed after extended therapy.

Abrupt termination of treatment may be accompanied by withdrawal symptoms. Symptoms reported following discontinuation of antidepressants include headache, anxiety, tension, depression, insomnia, restlessness, confusion, irritability, sweating, rebound phenomena, dysphoria, dizziness, derealization, depersonalization, hyperacusis, numbness/tingling of extremities, hypersensitivity to light, noise, and physical contact/perceptual changes, involuntary movements, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, hallucinations/delirium, convulsions/seizures, tremor, abdominal cramps, myalgia, agitation, palpitations, tachycardia, panic attacks, vertigo, hyperreflexia, short-term memory loss, and hyperthermia. Convulsions/seizures may be more common in patients with pre-existing seizure disorders or who are taking other drugs that lower the convulsive threshold such as antidepressants.

There is evidence that tolerance develops to the sedative effects of antidepressants.
